Eliot River Ramblers Soccer Club Granted Club License by Canada Soccer
The Eliot River Ramblers Soccer Club are pleased to announce that we have been granted our Quality Soccer Provider License. This designation is part of Canada Soccer's Club Licensing Program which was established to raise the quality of club soccer delivery across the country. The Quality Soccer Provider, or QSP, License shows that we have documented that we adhere to a set of governance, administrative, infrastructure and technical standards as laid out by Canada Soccer as good practice for a soccer club with a youth component.
The announcement was made on June 15th by Canada Soccer. We were one of 20 clubs awarded this license this quarter and are one of about 150 clubs in Canada with this designation now. We are the first soccer club from the Island to achieve this recognition.
There are four different licenses in total offered by Canada Soccer for clubs providing youth soccer. The QSP License represents the minimum standards a Canadian soccer club delivering youth soccer should be adhering to and in 2023, all Canadian clubs offering youth soccer will be expected to have this minimum level of licensing. However, our club is excited to be pushing forward with the licensing process and we are hopeful that we will also be completing our Member Association Level 1 License, the next level up from Quality Soccer Provider, in the coming months.
Canada Soccer’s Club Licensing Program was launched in 2017 with the Canada Soccer Professional Club Licence. Canada Soccer announced the expansion of the program to youth soccer in 2018 in collaboration with its Provincial and Territorial Member Associations in order to incorporate international good practices.
